YORK COUNTY, S.C. (Andrew Dys/Rock Hill Herald) - A York County man is charged with making and possessing child porn pictures, according to police and court records.

Joseph Cale Mohr, 29, was arrested Friday morning, York County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Mohr faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of minors, according to police and jail records.

Mohr used his cellphone to make screenshot pornography pictures of minors, according to South Carolina arrest warrants obtained by The Herald. He also is accused of using the Internet to find and keep child porn sex photos, the warrants show.

The photos were meant for sexual stimulation and show juveniles involved in nudity and sexual activity, the warrants state. Mohr then uploaded the porn to his Google account, according to the warrants.

Deputies started the investigation in late November, according to police and court documents.

The case is part of the S.C. Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children task force, said Robert Kittle, spokesman for the attorney general’s office.

The arrest comes two weeks after the sheriff’s office, FBI. Homeland Security and Secret Service arrested 10 people in an Internet child porn sting based in York County. Police said at this time the cases do not appear to be linked.

York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson said suspects who target children in sex crimes will be investigated and charged.

Mohr could face as much as 100 years in prison if convicted of all charges. Sexual exploitation of a minor is a felony that carries up to 10 years in prison for each conviction, South Carolina law shows.

Mohr remains jailed at the York County Detention Center.
