CMPD investigating bomb threat at CLT airport, individual detained
ccording to a media release by the airport, CLT remains one of the fastest growing airports in the country and continues to prepare for passenger growth. The record breaking passenger numbers are a 1 percent increase from 2017 numbers and is 34 percent jump compared to 2008 total travelers.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A bomb threat that was called into Charlotte-Douglas International Airport on Friday evening resulted in one person being detained and an investigation underway with law enforcement officials.

Officers with CMPD first responded to the threat at the airport at around 5:00 p.m.

Upon initially looking into the matter, an individual was placed int custody. As of 6:40 p.m., the ‘all-clear’ had been given on the matter.

No further information has been released at this time.
