Elk gets stuck in hammock in North Carolina

MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. (WYFF) - An elk had to be rescued after getting stuck in a hammock.

It happened on Thanksgiving in Haywood County.

Cpl Ken Stiles cut the animal free at a home on Windswept Drive in Maggie Valley.

A Facebook post from the Haywood County Sheriff's Office said, "Resume regular operations and enjoy the clear blue sky today."

“Ken is now the elk whisperer ! Good job!,” one Facebook comment said.
