TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - On November 4, 1919 Elma Mikel was born.

On Saturday, she celebrated 100 years of life with family and friends from all over.

She said the secret to a long life is, “Living in the country and eating cornbread, beans, and fried potatoes.”

Her family recalled stories they’ve heard her tell over the years and discussed her delicious pies.

She also recited the Gettysburg Address, something she has never forgotten a word of.
