Late night storms bring lightning, cause weather delay at concert in Charlotte

Friday night weather forecast: 11pm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Storms rolled through Charlotte late Friday night, bringing lots of lightning in the area.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued until 2:15 a.m. for parts of Mecklenburg County from roughly Hebron to Derita.

Heavy rain and lightning were near-stationary over the area for about two hours.

The lightning caused a weather delay at a Dave Matthews Band concert at PNC Music Pavilion Friday night. According to Live Nation, the concert venue was evacuated due to the severe weather.

Concertgoers were advised to proceed to the nearest exit and seek shelter in their vehicles.

Around 11:15 p.m., Live Nation tweeted that the concert would resume soon and advised concertgoers to calmly head back to the gates to re-enter.
