CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - Police have identified a man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning as 89-year-old Roy Lee Icenhour of Conover.

The wreck happened around 10 a.m. on 12th Avenue Northeast in Hickory. Investigators say Icenhour was in the right lane heading east in a 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity when he turned into the path of a 2014 Honda Pilot travelling the same direction in the left lane.

Icenhour was transported to the Catawba Valley Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

It is unclear if the 32-year-old female driver of the Pilot was injured in the collision.

Officials say speed was not a factor in the crash and no charges have been filed.

No further information has been released.
