CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - In preparation for the 2019 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets held two pre-draft workouts on Monday that included eight players.
Three of those players spent their collegiate career playing in the Carolinas - NC State’s Markell Johnson, Clemson’s Elijah Thomas, and UNC Charlotte’s Jon Davis.
Davis completed his final season as a 49er this year, averaged 21.7 points, and was second in scoring in Conference USA.
“Moving forward I think my biggest thing is just being myself, showcasing what I can do, and also showing the things I wasn’t able to show in college - showing the NBA guys that I can do certain things on the floor.” Davis said. “I can handle a team, I can run a team, I can handle the ball, and also that I can do others things. I can do all while I’m scoring the ball, which is what I’m really known for."
Davis currently has two additional NBA pre-draft workouts scheduled.
The NBA draft takes place on June 20th.
