Pretty warm for now - but HOT by the Memorial Day weekend!

First Alert Forecast: Monday, May 20 @4pm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Temperatures are warming up again! There is a 20% chance for a shower or thunderstorm for the rest of the day.

Tuesday will be another warm one but rain chances are lower than today.

Wednesday will be our biggest break from the heat for a while. Highs will be in the lower 80s for the day. That is pretty close to the average high of 80°. Enjoy it while it lasts… because it won’t last.

The heat really turns on for the end of the week and Memorial Day weekend. Highs will return to the low 90s on Thursday and then we will be in the mid 90s Friday through the weekend. Rain chances will remain pretty low.

That is good news for any outdoor holiday plans – but a cooling afternoon thunderstorm might not feel too bad by this weekend.

Have a great evening!
