CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person was seriously injured in a shooting in northeast Charlotte Friday night.

According to Medic, the incident happened on Collins Aikman Drive around 7:30 p.m.

Emergency officials said they responded to a call for a gunshot wound.

One person was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officers strung up crime scene tape throughout the parking lot behind a Taco Mac restaurant and a building that houses several hair stylists.

A woman working in a hair salon spoke to WBTV under the condition of anonymity Friday night. She said she was cutting a little girl’s hair when she got word of the shooting.

“I just get scared instantly, cause I don’t now what’s gonna happen. I don’t know if they’re gonna run through the building, but it seemed like (the police) had it all under control cause when (the police) pulled up, they ran straight in there,” explained the woman.

There’s no word on what happened in the shooting or any possible suspects.

This is a developing story and no further information was released.
