The heat is now a bigger story than the storm chance

Saturday afternoon forecast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - If you like summertime, it is coming at us fast! Temperatures will be above average for the next seven days. Today will take us to the low 90s. That will make it the warmest day so far this year. Tomorrow will be close to it, with highs in the upper 80s.

For both days, the biggest story will be the heat but the rain chance isn’t zero. There is a 20% chance for a few isolated afternoon thunderstorms.

There will be a front moving through on Monday but it won’t cool us down very much for the new week. There is a 30% chance for rain on Monday but then the rain chance goes back down for the rest of the week.

We will be in the 80s Monday and Tuesday. Then we head back to the low 90s for the rest of the week. The humidity levels will also be noticeably higher by the second half of the week.

Have a great weekend!
