Charlotte racecar driver Ryan Repko’s car honors victims of UNC Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte racecar driver and UNCC student Ryan Repko’s car has a special paint scheme, honoring the victims of the deadly shooting at UNC Charlotte.

This weekend, Repko says he will be honoring the victims, as well as supporting his fellow 49ers by running a special tribute paint scheme.

The No. 14 car has a green and black color scheme, with a 49ers logo and the words “Charlotte Strong” painted on the hood.

The names of Riley Howell and Ellis Reed Parlier are also painted on the car. Howell and Parlier were the two students killed in the tragic shooting.

Repko will be racing at the CARS Tour on Saturday, May 18 at the Motor Mile Speedway in Fairlawn, VA.

Repko says he is also looking to help raise money for the victims’ families by allowing people to purchase “laps” of the race this weekend.

Repko says will be donating the winnings from this weekend’s race to UNC Charlotte.
