CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - While the humidity level is still in check, we’re no longer looking at cool temperatures.
The past two days in Charlotte have started at 45° and ended at 72°. We’re staring in the milder 50s this morning and headed for near 80° this afternoon. Sunshine will dominate and the rain chance remains near zero. Clear and comfortable tonight, with lows settling back into the 50s.
We turn considerably warmer on Friday with high temperatures jumping to the upper 80s. As of now, isolated storms (maybe 20% chance) are possible Friday afternoon and over the weekend, with the best chance over the mountains.
While rain chances are expected to be low Friday through Sunday, any thunderstorms that do develop could be on the strong side as afternoon heat and humidity build.
The bigger weather story this weekend will be the much-advertised heat, as I’m forecasting near 90° both days, the hottest so far this season! The trend of well-above-average heat and humidity looks to hold from Monday and Tuesday of next week as well.
Hope you have a great day!
