CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - This may surprise you, but with our second straight day on Wednesday only hitting a high of 72 degrees, that completed seven straight days with high temperatures remaining in the 70s!
Now many of those days last week and over the weekend were rather muggy days and/or days with clouds and rain which kept us from being warmer, but overall it was still a break from the 80-degree weather we had prior to that all the way back to the end of April.
So buckle your seatbelt because the high heat is about to return and likely the hottest air we’ve seen so far in 2019.
We will tack on almost 20 degrees from the highs we’ve had in the low 70s this week to around 90 over the weekend.
Beyond that headline, we’re only expecting scattered showers or storms to appear Friday through early next week - no washouts or severe weather the way we have experienced the past two weekends.
Our highest temperature so far this year has been 86 degrees and we hit that three times.
