According to the Gastonia Police Department, officers responded to an assault with a weapon call at about 11:15 a.m. on East Ozark Avenue.

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - Officials have charged a man for assaulting another man with a broken glass bottle in Gastonia Tuesday morning.

According to the Gastonia Police Department, officers responded to an assault with a weapon call at about 11:15 a.m. on East Ozark Avenue.

Officials say the incident involved an altercation between two men.

Police say 55-year-old Jason Jerome Brown is charged in the assault of a man with a broken glass bottle.

Officials say the man suffered a cut on his neck and on one of his hands.

On the scene, officers say Brown wouldn’t cooperate with police commands, was tased, then taken into custody, and taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
