Man charged with murder of woman in Charlotte hotel room shooting

Woman identified after fatal hotel shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man was charged with the murder of a woman who was shot and killed in a hotel room in south Charlotte in April.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, detectives have charged 23-year-old Khdaius Amorae Marshall for his involvement in the murder of 30-year-old Tyrena Inman.

Marshall was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The incident occurred on Yorkmont Road near the Billy Graham Parkway and South Tryon Street on April 28.

CMPD said Inman was shot and killed in a hotel room at the Extended Stay hotel. A man was also shot and was expected to be OK.

“I think people that have hope, opportunities, are less likely to throw their lives away in violence because the end result of this is death or prison,” said CMPD Major Mike Campagna.

The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing.
