Lancaster Co. man found safe on I-77 after being reported missing
Lancaster County deputies have located a missing man who was last seen early Tuesday morning.

LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) - Lancaster County deputies have located a missing man who was last seen early Tuesday morning.

Hazel Cauthen, 72, was last seen around 3 a.m., officials say. Deputies in Lancaster County posted an update on Facebook that he was found safely on I-77.

Officials say at about 3 a.m. Cauthen walked outside of his home on Hilldale Drive in Lancaster and likely got into his blue and white trim 1996 Ford F-150 with South Carolina tags HLG243 and drove away.

According to a release, a possible sighting of the truck occurred a little after 5 a.m. The truck was traveling toward Lancaster on McIlwain Road. Officials say later in the morning another possible sighting occurred at the gate to Fort Jackson in Richland County.
