Coolest morning in three weeks, temps expected to rise to lower 70s

WBTV Tuesday morning First Alert forecast

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It doesn’t get much better than this! With a huge area of high pressure settling into the Carolinas, we’re starting off in the 40s – the coolest morning in three weeks – with lower 70s in the forecast for the afternoon hours.

The humidity level is bone dry as well and there’ll be just a light northerly breeze stirring today. Get outdoors and enjoy the awesome weather!

Clear and very cool again tonight with lows settling back into the 40s – even some 30s in the mountains – and we’ll stay nice on Wednesday with sunshine dominating, comfortable humidity levels and afternoon readings holding in the 70s.

We turn a little bit warmer late week with high temperatures rebounding into the 80s for Thursday and Friday. As of now, isolated storms (around 20% chance) are possible over the weekend, but overall, it should be a much drier weekend than the last two we’ve had.

The bigger weather story this weekend may be the heat, as I’m forecasting upper 80s to near 90° both days, the hottest so far this season!

Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
