Man accused of exposing himself to children at Charlotte bus stops arrested

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man police say exposed himself at Charlotte-area bus stops has been arrested, CMPD sources confirmed Thursday afternoon.

CMPD identified the man Thursday as 37-year-old Eric Henderson, warning parents as he was still being sought. Officials say Henderson was taken into custody without incident.

At least 8 incidents have occurred at or near Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and CATS bus stops between February 1 and May 2, police say, and there is a “strong possibility” they are all connected. Henderson faces charges of felony indecent exposure, misdemeanor indecent exposure and indecent liberties with a child.

In all the incidents a man has pulled up to a child who was alone at a bus stop and exposed his genitals or masturbated, officers said at a press conference Monday.

The victims were all females between the ages of 8 and 18 and none were physically harmed or touched. However, police say, the man did try to talk to several of the victims and even offered one money to “watch him.”

In at least one case, Henderson was described as being completely nude.

The man, later identified as Henderson, was initially described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old with short hair and a thin build. He was driving a white, older-model 4-door sedan.

According to the Mecklenburg County Jail, Henderson has a prior indecent exposure offense.
