Saturday declared a First Alert Day with possibility for severe wind, storms

Saturday morning forecast

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Looks like a pretty unsettled weekend... A First Alert Day has been issued for Saturday. If you have any outdoor plans, just make sure they’re flexible. It won’t be raining all day but it is hard to say when the rain will be coming down in any one spot.

It will be a warm and muggy day. You can count on that. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s but the humidity will make its presence known. Any storms that do pop up could be strong to severe with damaging winds and hail possible - but it looks like the biggest threat this weekend will be heavy rain.

We won’t see all of this clear by Mother’s Day. Highs will be in the upper 70s and there could be more showers and storms. There’s a little better chance for a few strong to severe storms later in the day or in the evening.

By Monday though, we are in for a treat! Highs will be almost average for this time of year and we should stay day – possibly all week long!

Have a great weekend!
