First Alert declared for Saturday with showers and storms in the forecast

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Mostly cloudy, warm and very humid again today with spotty showers around and highs close to lower 80°.

There could be a lingering shower around tonight, otherwise, it stays muggy as we settle back into 60s again overnight. Unfortunately, several waves of low pressure will slide our way along a stalled front over the Mother’s Day weekend resulting in much more widespread rain.

A First Alert Day has been declared for Saturday – and one may follow for Sunday – as rounds of numerous showers and storms are in the forecast both weekend days. Humidity will be sky high as well until the system exits early next week. With clouds and rain dominating, afternoon readings will hold in the 70s Saturday and Sunday.

By Monday, rain will move out with sunshine and lower humidity moving back in. In fact, much of next week looks really nice!

Despite the rain, I hope you have a great Friday & Mother’s Day weekend!
