Wanted robber made ‘active’ attempts to cut employee, police say

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man is wanted for robbing two businesses while armed with a knife or box cutter in Charlotte in May.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, on May 12, a man went into a Boost Mobile on Wilkinson Boulevard, armed with a box cutter, verbally threatened an employee and stole items from the business.

He was described as a black male with a light beard and being approximately 40 to 50 years of age, standing 5’8” tall with a slim build.

On May 4, officers responded to an armed robbery at Metro PCS on Westerly Hills Drive. The robber entered the business and engaged in casual conversation with the employees, officials say.

According to a report, the robber pulled out a knife and grabbed one of the employees while making “active” attempts to cut the employee.

Officials say the robber demanded money from the register and then fled the scene.

During this crime, police say the robber was wearing a long sleeve red shirt with light blue jeans. He was wearing a black beanie with writing and gold rimmed sunglasses.
