CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Only one of the people injured in Tuesday’s deadly shooting at UNC Charlotte had been publicly identified as of Tuesday night.

In a phone conversation with WBTV, Ross Pescaro, said his brother, Drew Pescaro, was injured during the shooting on the UNC Charlotte campus Tuesday evening. Ross Pescaro declined to issue any sort of statement, but asked for the community to pray for his brother.

He also asked that people use the hashtag #DrewStrong when posting about his brother on social media. He said family members were heading to Charlotte to be with his brother in the hospital.

Pescaro’s family is asking for prayers and support as he recovers from surgery.

A post from the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity first identified Drew Pescaro as a victim Tuesday. The fraternity tweeted out a statement that read:

We support the students and personnel at UNC-Charlotte affected by today’s tragic shooting. ATO brother Drew Pescaro was shot and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. We are keeping Drew, the chapter and the campus in our prayers.

The Niner Times, the student-run newspaper at UNC Charlotte, also tweeted about Drew Pescaro Tuesday night. The paper tweeted:

Our sports writer Drew Pescaro was one of those shot tonight. He is out of surgery and stable. The full support of the Niner Times staff is behind him in his recovery. #DrewStrong
