Suspect taken into custody after hours-long SWAT at southwest Charlotte home
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A suspect was taken into custody Tuesday night after SWAT teams were called to a home in southwest Charlotte.
The incident began around 5 p.m. at a home on Coulee Place, near Southampton Road off of S. Tryon Street.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police (CMPD) said officers were attempting to locate someone when the person barricaded himself in the house and that’s when SWAT was activated.
Around 11:20 p.m., CMPD tweeted that SWAT had taken one suspect into custody without incident.
There is no word on why officials were looking for the person and no names or possible charges have been released.
