ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A 66-year-old man was charged with assault after deputies say he stabbed his own son.
Deputies were called to respond to the 500 block of Troutman Rd, Rockwell, at about 5:30 am on Monday due to a stabbing.
When deputies arrived, they say they found Calvin Ray Linker, of Stanley, NC, who had stabbed his son, Jesse Linker.
According to the report, Calvin Linker was intoxicated, and the dispute was reported to be over cigarettes.
Jesse Linker, 37, was stabbed in the arm, and was transported by EMS to CMC-Northeast in Concord for treatment.
Calvin Linker was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury, and was also served with an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear in court from Gaston County. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $3,500 bond.
