ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A man was fortunate that he survived literally being run over by a train, but at this point, no one knows who the man is.
On Friday morning, Rowan deputies and emergency responders were called to 1500 Pinnacle Way Drive in the Landis area. A man who had been lying between the rails of a railroad track had been run over by the train.
A brake line from the train left cuts on the man’s body, according to investigators.
The man was conscious and alert when responders arrived, but was being treated for a cut on his head just above his eye, and a larger cut on his left shin.
The report noted that the man was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
He was taken to NorthEast Medical Center, then later transferred to a Charlotte hospital with a traumatic brain injury. He is currently in stable condition, according to the report.
According to the report, the man had no identification, and no one has been able to determine his identity.
The victim was described as a black man with short hair and a full beard. He was wearing a red tee shirt, silver or gray shorts, and black socks.
