CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A 16-year-old boy was charged in two armed robberies in Charlotte Friday.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, detectives have charged 16-year-old Remy Caple for his involvement in two armed robberies.
On Thursday morning, officers responded to an armed robbery call for service that occurred on Electra Lane. The victim told police that the teen ook his cellphone at gunpoint and fled the scene in a vehicle.
A short time later, officers responded to an armed robbery on Timber Commons Lane. Upon arrival, officers were told that the teen took out a gun and demanded the victim’s property.
Based on information and evidence that was collected during the investigation and the assistance from the Real Time Crime Center, detectives were able to identify the suspect vehicle that was used which led them to identifying Caple as the the suspect.
On Friday, officers located and detained Caple and took him to be interviewed.
After the interview, Caple was charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigations are still active and ongoing.
