CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Another soggy night is well underway and tonight’s “bonus surprise” is dense fog. Please be extra careful if heading out overnight. Slick roads and low visibility is not a good combination. Temperatures will fall slowly by morning into the upper 40s.
Friday and Saturday will be another pair of unsettled days with chilly 40s returning as well as more clouds and intermittent periods of rain. We really can’t rule out any one time period either day that will be rain-free. It looks like the steadiest rain Friday generally holds along/north of I-40 where a couple more inches of rain are possible. Ashe & Watauga counties remain under a Flood Watch.
A front comes through Sunday morning bringing a final push of showers before clearing out swiftly for the second half of the day. Behind it, late Sunday afternoon will actually be quite mild with temps rebounding to the low 70s, wow!
We've been waiting all week for dry weather, and it still appears that once we get passed the weekend we're mainly dry for the early-middle part of next week with generally seasonable temperatures.
