FIRST ALERT: Rain continues as cold front hits Carolinas, messy morning commute possible

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The rain continues… A cold front will approach the Carolinas and that will bring yet another chance for rain. Overnight and into the morning on Thursday, there could be pockets of heavy rain and even a few rumbles of thunder.

The rain possibility could prove to be a bit disruptive for the morning commute on Thursday. At this point, the First Alert has only been issued for the morning. After that, it won’t necessarily be a nice day but the showers should be more spotty for the second half of the day.

Highs will likely stay in the low 50s. However, if the cold air wedge does manage to break down, we could possibly warm up late in the day. We can hope – right?

Friday and Saturday will remain unsettled. Highs will be in the low to mid 50s and the rain chance continues. We will finally see a cold front move through on Sunday. That will bring a chance for rain in the morning. Then it will move on and we will dry out for the afternoon. It could turn out to be a pretty nice day with highs in the low 70s!

Have a good evening!
