MATTHEWS, NC (WBTV) - Police are searching for the person responsible of using a stolen credit card to make a fraudulent purchase at Walmart.

Matthews police say on Feb. 5, they received a call that a vehicle had been broken into in the parking lot of the Windsor Square Shopping Center on E. Independence Boulevard.

The victim told police that when he returned to his car, he noticed the door lock was damaged and his wallet was missing which contained his ID and credit cards.

On Thursday, officials say the person used the victim’s credit card to make a purchase at the Walmart on Galleria Boulevard.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 704-841-6715.
