Four arrested following overnight Mooresville home invasion, shooting

MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Mooresville Police have taken four people into custody after responding to a home invasion early Sunday morning in which the resident was shot and wounded.

The attack occurred in a home located just outside of Downtown Mooresville shortly after 2:00 a.m. The victim told police that he believed he had heard someone breaking into the home and when he went to check, he encountered four individuals and was immediately shot upon approaching them.

After arriving at the home, Medic brought the victim to a Charlotte hospital for treatment where he is listed as being in stable condition.

The victim was able to describe the suspect vehicle involved in the break-in and police spotted it in Mooresville shortly after and conducted a routine traffic stop.

Derek Dulin, 19, Tacari Clark, Jr., 18, James Ingram, 19 and a fourth suspect who’s name is withheld due to his status as a juvenile were all arrested during this traffic stop.

All four suspects were charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen firearm, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

Investigators believed that this was a targeted attack and not random and are continuing to look into the matter. Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Mooresville Police Department at 704-664-3311.
