CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Authorities with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, in collaboration with several other federal agencies and Australian law enforcement officials, seized more than 1.7 tons of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin destined for Australia.
The narcotics were discovered in three separate packages which had been concealed in compartments designed to look like speakers at the LA/Long Beach seaport.
Australian police arrested two American citizens and four Australian citizens in connection with the seizure.
