CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Hunter Huss had their best season ever in 2018 as they went 13-1 and made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs.
Now Huskies’ head coach Jamar McKoy has even more to be proud of - that same team had its biggest signing class ever. Eleven seniors will now have the opportunity to further their education and play football at the collegiate level.
“It’s absolutely amazing that I have the opportunity to see so many young men realize their dreams today and sign National Letters of Intent to play college football,” Coach McKoy said.
The schools the signees will be attending: UNC Charlotte (Prince Beamer), Yale (Marcus Mauney), Duke (Tony Davis), Western Carolina (Jaheim Mullen), JCSU (Nigel Hatten), Winston Salem State (Deaven Lowery), Coffeyville Community College (Jamel Littlejohn), Averett University (Joe Wilson and Dondra Burris) and Ramah Juco Academy (Damarius Davis).
“It gives me a sense of pride, a sense of joy, but I’m not alone. We have so many community activists that help out, the coaching staff - I have a wonderful coaching staff bar none. I think they’re the best men in NC to do what they’re doing. I appreciate them tenfold and just to see all the hard work we’ve put in come to fruition today we’re extremely ecstatic for these young men,” McKoy said.
