CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Mostly sunny skies again today with afternoon temperatures in the middle 70s, that’s more than 20° above average for early February. As a weak cool front to our north tries to ooze in from Virginia, there could be a stray shower or two Wednesday, with the best chances confined to the mountains. Even with a bit more cloud cover around Wednesday, we’ll stay above average with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Thursday will bring the warmest day of the week as south winds really kick up ahead of our next front. Expect readings in the upper 70s to near 80° during the afternoon before the front swings through Friday with a couple of spotty showers. At this point, I’m forecasting 78° in Charlotte Thursday. That would shatter the standing record of 74° set back in 1999.
Behind Friday’s front, temperatures finally retreat back to more seasonable readings in the 50s with lows in the 30s for Saturday and Sunday.
Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
