Dog dies in destructive house fire in Granite Falls, family displaced

GRANITE FALLS, NC (WBTV) - A dog died and a family is displaced after a fire destroyed a home in Granite Falls early Sunday morning.
The fire happened on Dudley Shoals Road in Granite Falls around 2:15 a.m.
Officials say the fire appeared to start near the front of house.
A family was inside and was getting out, when a good Samaritan stopped and helped them.
Several fire departments responded to control the fire. The house could not be saved.
A dog died in the fire, but everyone else was ok.
There’s no word on the fire’s cause
