CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A driver is facing multiple charges in a motorcycle crash that left one man dead Sunday night.

The deadly wreck happened around 9:43 p.m. on Central Avenue at Lansdale Drive.

Police say 37-year-old Jose Rodrigo Barajas Diaz was driving a truck when he made a U-turn into the inbound lanes of Central Avenue, driving into the path of 47-year-old motorcyclist Miguel Angel Linarte Jacome.

That’s when police say the motorcycle struck the front of the pick-up truck, killing Jacome. Diaz was not injured.

Diaz was charged with driving while impaired, felony death by vehicle, open container after consuming, no operator license and safe movement violation.
