Man drives to Charlotte fire station for help after shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man was seriously injured in a shooting in southeast Charlotte Wednesday evening.

The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. on Monroe Road near East Mecklenburg High School. Police say the victim, a 44-year-old man, then drove to nearby Charlotte Fire Station 3 for help.

Medic responded to the scene and took the man to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

There is no word on what may have led to the shooting or if a shooter was taken into custody.
