CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers made a roster move on Wednesday as they re-signed free agent defensive end Efe Obada.
Last season, Obada became the first player for the NFL’s International Pathway Program to make an active roster.
Obada is from London and with the announcement of the Panthers playing a regular season game in England in 2019, Obada has a chance to play in front of family and friends if he makes the team.
In his first game on the 53 man roster when the Panthers took on the Cincinnati Bengals, Obada had an interception, a sack, and two quarterback hurries. For his efforts he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
For the season, Obada played in 10 games and had 8 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 passes defensed.
