CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - If a low of 19° wasn’t cold enough for you on Monday morning, we’re shooting for a low of 16° overnight tonight. Stay warm. Highs on Tuesday will break back into the 40s though under mostly sunny skies, a step up from the high of 37 ° we had Monday.
Things often change fast around here. After sunshine on Tuesday, many of us will wake up to light ice on Wednesday morning. It should not impede anyone on the roads, but may turn out to be a nice conversation piece if a pretty glaze forms on branches and elevated surfaces. After that minor event, look for heavier rain to show up late Wednesday and overnight through early Thursday. Highs will bounce back into the mid 50s for those two days.
Heading into the weekend, colder and drier weather returns behind the rain and sets the stage for a brighter and prettier weekend.
Finally, for those of you snow-lovers, the 10-Day European model is hinting at accumulating snow hitting the Carolinas next Wednesday/Thursday. Don’t get your hopes up just yet, but it gives you one more reason to check back with us.
