CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Watch for falling temperatures! We are starting the day with the warmest temperatures we will see. We have already hit the 24 hour high. We were at 57° overnight… but we won’t get back there today. We will likely be in the mid 40s most of the day. Then we fall quickly through the evening after the sun goes down. The wind will pick up too. That means it will feel like the 30s or even the 20s a lot of the day.
Tonight will be extra cold. We will fall to the upper teens to low 20s. There is a wind chill warning for parts of the mountains. It could feel like ten below zero at times.
High Wind Warning for the mountains today though 7 a.m. Monday.
Wind Advisory for the foothills today through 7 a.m. Monday.
Wind Chill Warning for Avery, N. Burke and N. Caldwell from 4 p.m. today through 7 a.m. Monday.
MLK Day will be cold from beginning to end. It won’t be quite as windy but highs will be in the upper 30s. It will remain dry.
Tuesday will also be dry as we return to the mid 40s. Wednesday takes us back to the upper 50s. The next system will arrive and bring rain Wednesday evening into the first part of Thursday. That front will usher in more cold air for next weekend.
Have a good Sunday!
