Crews pull car out of pond in Union County water rescue

UNION COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Crews pulled a vehicle out of a pond in Union County in a water rescue Saturday night.
According to the Wingate Volunteer Fire Department, the incident happened around 7 p.m.
The Wingate Fire Department was dispatched to a water rescue in the area.
Upon arrival, officials found a vehicle mostly submerged in a retention pond behind Rock Rest Elementary.
Emergency officials say all occupants had gotten out of the vehicle before crews arrived.
The Monroe Fire Department was called for assistance with their boat to help secure the tow trucks lines to the vehicle for recovery efforts.
The vehicle was removed from the pond without any incident.
