CORNELIUS, NC (WBTV) - A candlelight vigil is set for 7:30pm outside theCornelius Police Department. It's to honor 5-year-old Jace Thompson. There's no easy way to say this, but Jace died over the weekend. Dozens of friends have emailed saying they're coming together tonight to support on the police department steps to show support for his family.
Jace was the first child we featured with our September #MollysKids. He’d been in a tough battle with DIPG.
His mom is a captain at Cornelius Police and his dad, Eric, works for North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
One day he was “running around being a normal boy,” Jennifer said. Then he was suddenly sick with an incurable brain tumor. Read his September 1st post here >> https://tinyurl.com/Sept12018MKs
Cancer is horrible in every form. Every single one. But there’s something worse about it hitting a child. Jennifer has always been positive and kept the faith, and hopefully she and Eric know how much the community is thinking of them now.
