CHARLOTTE,NC (WBTV) - Many people who traveled to Washington, DC to watch the inauguration returned to Charlotte Wednesday.
Derek Ondrof,13, and Chase Bengel,14, attended the event as part of an inaugural youth conference.
"It was so historic, I couldn't believe I was actually there," said Ondrof.
"The crowd was just ecstatic, everybody was just so excited, you couldn't even move," said Bengel.
Michelle Waymyers returned from Washington, DC toting an Obama bag and inauguration sweatshirt.
Her favorite moment was meeting Hillary Clinton.
"I got to shake her hand there for a minute, it was a quick, shake and go, but it was good," said Waymyers.
Marette Parker took her three daughters to the inauguration.
"I wanted them to be a part of history, that was very important to me," said Parker.
