Cabarrus County flood shelters closed; help still available

CONCORD, NC - Shelters at the Cannon Memorial YMCA, Kannapolis and Harrisburg United Methodist Church, Harrisburg have closed as of noon, Thursday, August 28th.  All registered clients will be assisted with recovery plans by the American Red Cross, Cabarrus County.  For any community members seeking assistance who were not registered at shelters, please call our Red Cross at 704-782-9022 ext. 427 to schedule an appointment with a disaster case worker.  Those needing assistance will be seen on an appointment basis, and verification of needs (as a result of the floods) will be needed before assistance will be provided.  Disaster case workers will work with families, county emergency management and disaster assessment data to verify eligible households.
