CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - There is some closure coming for the families of two girls who were brutally killed in Charlotte 15 years ago.

Raylynn Chelton, 15, and Tasha Lopes, 17, were brutally murdered.

The jury deliberated for five hours in the case against Antwann Sanders on Friday.  He is one of the three men charged in their death.

Sanders is facing four first-degree charges for murder, kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault.

Investigators say Chelton and Lopes begged for their lives the day they were killed back in 1993.

Their bodies were found in a field in North Charlotte five days after they disappeared.

Both girls had been shot in the head.

The jury asked the judge for clarification of the law several times during deliberations.  They will resume deliberations Monday at 9:30am.
