Europe's Best Strawberry Doughnuts
6 Large Doughnuts
2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 T melted butter
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 chopped Europeʼs Best strawberries chopped with any liquid
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
In a large bowl mix dry ingredients. Add butter. Add all other ingredients. Mix until
combined. Roll out 1/3" thick. With a 3" round cutter cut out doughnuts. Cut the center
hole out with a 1" round cutter. Transfer to a pan lined with wax paper or place directly
in a fryer at 350*. When golden flip and cook till golden. Drain on paper towels. Let
cool slightly. Toss in cinnamon sugar or dip in icing. Spoon some marinated
strawberries into the center while the doughnuts are still warm. Serve and Enjoy!!!!!
Icing
1 cup powdered sugar
strawberry juice from the Europeʼs Best marinated strawberries
In a bowl add a little juice at a time to the sugar. Add just enough to create an icing that
will adhere to the doughnuts when dipped.
Marinated Strawberries
2 cups Europeʼs Best strawberries
1/4 cup brown sugar
pinch ground clove
pinch ground nutmeg
pinch ground cinnamon
Toss all together in a bowl and let them marinate at room temperature for 1 hour. Add 1
T chiffonade of fresh mint leaves.
