Sonoma Modern American
Savory Monkey Bread
1 ½ # pizza dough
1 # grated fontina, mozzarella or a soft melting cheese
½ cup julienne proscuitto, pepperoni or other cured meat
3 T extra virgin olive oil
1 T chopped parsley
1 T chopped sage
Cut pizza dough in course 1" cubes. In a olive oil greased 8" cake pan layer some dough to cover the bottom. You can leave some small spaces between the dough. Sprinkle a heavy layer of cheese on top. Sprinkle proscuitto and herb. Layer dough on top, sprinkle with a little cheese and drizzle with olive oil. Place some more dough on top but do not cover completely. Let sit out at room temperature until double in size and is above the rim. Bake at 350* until golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes in the pan. Remove to a rack and let cool. Warm just before serving. Enjoy!!!!!
