Knights open final home series with loss to Durham 4-3 Tuesday

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights started their final home series of the season Tuesday night against Durham.

It's a scheduled three game set to wrap up the 2018 campaign for the Knights not going to the playoffs.

Designated hitter Dustin Garneau hit his 7th homerun of the season in the bottom of the 7th inning, but it was not enough to pull out the win for the Knights who lost game one of the series 4-3.

Spencer Adams took the loss for Charlotte giving up four runs on 11 hits over seven innings.

He struck out four batters but allowed two homeruns and that ended up being the difference in the game.

The same teams play game number two of their scheduled three game set tomorrow at 7:04 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark.
