LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A woman in Lincoln County was arrested after deputies say she stabbed her boyfriend several times early Friday morning.

The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. at the couple's home on the 400 block of Southside Road in Lincolnton. Investigators say the 32-year-old boyfriend climbed through a window into the house when his girlfriend, 33-year-old Aftan Marie Moore, wouldn't let him inside.

That's when deputies say Moore grabbed a fixed-blade knife from the boyfriend's belt and stabbed him.

The boyfriend barricaded himself in a back bathroom before running from the home. According to the release, Moore tried to stab him again as he ran out.

The victim then ran to a neighbor's yard and law enforcement was called to the scene.

Deputies say the boyfriend was stabbed in the back and hip area. He was taken to a hospital in Gaston County for treatment and his current condition has not been released.

Moore was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and held without bond pending a court appearance.
