Power is restored on Carolina Beach Road after a driver crashes into a power, knocking out power Sunday evening.
According to the Duke Energy outage map, power was restored in the area just after 2:30 Monday morning.
According to WPD, the driver struck a power pole at 2054 Carolina Beach Road at around 7:40 p.m., which caused the pole to snap in half.
The driver was taken to NHRMC. There is no word on the driver's condition at this time.
All lanes of Carolina Beach Road, north of Morningside Drive, is back open after the crash.
TRAFFIC ALERT: The southbound lane of Carolina Beach Rd is closed following a single vehicle crash. A driver struck a power pole around 7:40 pm, causing it to snap in half. EMS transported him to NHRMC. Duke Energy has crews on scene. Power is expected to be out for a few hours.
