Coroner believes body found in ravine is missing Landrum man

BLACKSBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said he believes a body found earlier today is that of a missing Landrum man. 

Fowler said a wallet belonging to 24-year-old Jeremy Lee Filowiat, who was has been missing since July, was recovered at the scene. 

According to deputies, they began searching around 7:30 a.m. near Parker Road in Blacksburg, and found the body an hour in with help from SCARDA cadaver canines.

The coroner's office said dental records will be used to confirm the identity. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause and manner of death.
